Rose Blooms and Fragrances

I haven't touched my camera in over a month, but I've taken regular pictures using my phone.
I know, not the same quality, but I thoought I'd better post some images of these September beauties.

Now, in another league as far as fragrance goes - Evelyn Rose.

A simply amazing perfume!

A very different type of perfume comes from The Pilgrim.
I can sense aniseed in there, but in a delightful way :)

Now, not only David Austin roses have great frangrance.
This German lady also has an amazing fragrance, alas is does not repeat so well for me and it suffers from summer sun burns.

Let's get back to the David Austins with yet another AMAZING fragrance on an almost perfect (if it were not for the thorns) rose.

Flower Fields

The administration of the village I live in has had this wonderful idea for the last couple of summers of planting a grass area in the main park with a mix of fuss free flowers.

They also created passages through it and kids are simply excited to use it as some sort of labyrinth.

This evening, as my kids played there after the apple festival, I had the time to take the photos bellow.

A Thing of Beauty

Roses in Parc de Merl - Luxembourg

I've never managed to see this little rose garden in all its spelndor until last week.
I took no panoramic pictures, since I found the individual bushes and blooms much better looking than garden views.
Here are the beauties which I've hardly manage to remotely identify

Geranium Rozanne

I must start this post by admitting that roses are by far my favourite plants and my favourite flowers.
That being said, I kind of love a lot of other blooming plants.
Geranium Rozanne is among my very favourites and what's not to like - extremely fuss free (no deadheading, no pruning during the season) and extremely floriferous.
And it's blue!
This bush in my garden compliments the pink roses so well and it adds this splash of blue that is always full of colour from early summer and until the first frosts, which may even mean november in some years.
Oh, did I forget to mention it's also picture perfect?

A Lazy Girl's Photos

What does a lazy girl do?

She doesn't carry her heavy camera with heavy lense, that's for sure!

Not even downstairs, in her own garden.

 

However, she likes taking photos and always keeps her mobile phone in her pocket (the horror!).

Garden Goodies

I've been away for almost a month from the end of July and well into August, so my garden has been neglected this summer.

 

To make matters worse, August has been a mess weather-wise : maximum temps at around 20C and a lot of rain.

 

As you can imagine, my garden was far from thriving upon my return...well, except for the grass :)

 

Yet, there are a few things I can still pick up from the garden and I am surely enjoying every single one of them.
